ABOUT THE EVENT

Health Is Wealth – Detroit is the premier gathering for Detroiters who desire to experience a celebration of wellness in community. On Friday, August 15, 2025, Detroiters and friends are invited to share in a day of festivities, highlighting the importance of wellness in our everyday lives. There will be live music, entertainment, wellness exhibits, wellness vendors, informative panels and conversations, great food, free health screenings, fitness experiences, as well as activities for youth and children. The entire day will be a come and go atmosphere, making it accessible for the general public and all ages. Come enjoy a holistic wellness experience in a vibrant, fun-filled atmosphere!

ABOUT THE HOST

The Black Legacy Advancement Coalition is a movement committed to building Black power by providing education and resources to uplift our communities. Founded in 2020, this grassroots organization has significantly invested in capital projects that have renovated property while renovating human lives. This work has been realized through our Ground Up Initiative, an effort to revitalize homes and commercial buildings in some of Detroit’s historically Black neighborhoods. Ground Up also champions business development in our communities, as well as the holistic development of young adults ages 18-35 through our Ground Up Leadership Program.

We envision a world in which all people of African descent have:

  1. Access to education and the career path of their choice
  2. Tools for generational wealth building
  3. Mental health services, physical wellness and high-quality housing.

The Coalition regularly hosts workshops and events to disseminate practical knowledge that will elevate our members’ consciousness and quality of life.
